Following the introduction of jet services on the Johannesburg – Richards Bay route, Airlink will include a Business Class service from 1 October 2018. Airlink’s business class service is styled in the manner of a European intra-continental service, as currently offered on other Airlink routes. The service includes a welcome drink, hand refreshment towel, a cold meal served on crockery, branded silverware on a tray, a choice of white and red Michelangelo Award-winning Wines, a 30 kg check-in baggage allowance and lounge access at OR Tambo.
The recently acquired Embraer E-Jet 170 regional jets used by Airlink to operate the route, feature 6 business class seats with a generous seat pitch in a one plus two abreast seating configuration with large eye-level windows and ample overhead bin space, to accommodate carry on items.
A special introductory business class fare from *R3,204 all inclusive, one way, is being offered on the two JET service flights, of the three daily flights currently operated on the route. The late morning JET service flight departs OR Tambo International Airport at 11h35 arriving in Richards Bay at 12h40 Monday to Friday and Sundays with the return flight departing Richards Bay at 13h10 arriving at Johannesburg at 14h15. The afternoon JET service flight departs Johannesburg at 15h20 arriving at Richards Bay at 16h30. The return flight departs Richards Bay at 17h00 arriving at Johannesburg at 18h05.
